Noelle Weinman Lander, Wyoming

I am a mom and local Wyoming artist. I am a genre painter and self described “colorist” working from life and photograph to produce acrylic paintings.

What is Art for you?

A career literally. A God-given opportunity and talent to express self. A visual language to explain insurmountable feelings and beauty experienced in life.

What is chocolate to you?

One of the last joys in life after 40…. also an opportunity for chocolate producers to create a sustainable fair-trade work of culinary art. Chocolate is an art form much like painting. It requires careful and deliberate consideration in effort to deliver a fine product.

What inspires you, and this piece in particular?

God, and hardy, humble, enduring humans… but mostly God and his creation.

“Bewilderment”: was inspired by the current displacement of large ungulates due to human infringement, most notably elk.

“Tetons in Living Color” was inspired by Wyoming’s magnificent Teton Range in full view one particularly clear winter morning.  The snow pack enhanced the shape of the rock formations and revealed the light temperature on its peaks.
